a bit of handmade.

I made this bunting a little while ago for my birthday party from little golden book pages, dr seuss book pages, and sheet music.

This little fella was made this morning because I had an urgent craft craving. I used some scrap fabric from mum's sewing room. I'm thinking about putting this little owl in a box for operation christmas child, because I think it's cool to use your crafty skills for a worthy cause.

what lies beyond.

Life has been too busy to take a breather this week. Architecture is a pretty exhausting thing to study at uni, with the late nights, model-making, drawing, early morning lectures, tutors with high expectations, and end-of-year designs all due around the same time. Thank goodness for coffee and great family & friends...this is what gets you through! I'm in the middle of crunch time, and I'm exhausted! I was very pleased and relieved to hand in a group assignment today that was causing a bit of strife.

All of this work, work and more work is making me terribly excited for the upcoming summer holidays. I have plans to get out my art box and craft supplies, read, bake, head to the beach, go swimming, move into our new house, see jack johnson on stage, enjoy some sleep-ins, go out for dinner, blog, watch movies and get some chill time with fam & friends! Here's what's keeping me going:

This fab pear pillow is from etsy, but I'd like to make my own :)

weekend bliss.

Happy almost-weekend! I am so excited that it's nearly break time. It's been a long and exhausting week! I took this polaroid photo in Fiji earlier this year, and it always makes me happy and think relaxed, holiday thoughts (and wish that we were back there!). Hope everyone has some lovely plans for their weekend :)

oh etsy.

I know I just did a post, but I looked at the homepage on my computer and etsy popped up. Look at these!! I am in awe :)

A lamp made of old sewing patterns....awesome.

Bunting made from an upcycled quilt...heck yes.

naive.

This is such a great book. I bought it last July on our first family trip to the USA. It is full of amazing graphic design concepts, including awesome music and awareness posters. Definitely worth your pennies!

paper boats.

I finally made a paper boat garland from the kit I received from a lovely friend, and I think it's rather marvellous! I'm looking forward to stringing them up in a brand new bedroom :)
I am back at uni this week to smash-out the last 3 weeks of the semester. Bring on summer holidays I say! Nevertheless, happy Monday! Hope everyone's week is grand xx

sleeping states.

I have been gathering several photos of some really cool spaces as inspiration for my new bedroom. Choosing colours, furniture, shelves and accessories is becoming more urgent, as the house is scheduled to be finished in just 10 weeks! The countdown begins, and my whole family is super stoked. Have a look at these pretties:

Falling Leaves - by Sally Heinrich

I found this postcard a little while ago, & thought it fit in quite nicely with my blog title :)

flags, ahoy.

all images via brookefraser.com

I woke up this morning, checked my e-mails (as you do) and I was VERY excited to see that I had an update from brookefraser.com. The album is still set for release on Oct 12, however, Brooke has surprised all of her fans by bringing out some cool and quirky merchandise that is available to order NOW (*excited squeak*), including some cute little tees, hoodies, a canvas tote AND a coffee table book with its pages filled with loveliness: photographs, drawings, lyrics and other miscellaneous surprises created by Brooke Fraser herself. What a clever girl she is! Excuse me for a while, I'm off to order some goodies xx
