sleeping states.

I have been gathering several photos of some really cool spaces as inspiration for my new bedroom. Choosing colours, furniture, shelves and accessories is becoming more urgent, as the house is scheduled to be finished in just 10 weeks! The countdown begins, and my whole family is super stoked. Have a look at these pretties:

flags, ahoy.

I woke up this morning, checked my e-mails (as you do) and I was VERY excited to see that I had an update from brookefraser.com. The album is still set for release on Oct 12, however, Brooke has surprised all of her fans by bringing out some cool and quirky merchandise that is available to order NOW (*excited squeak*), including some cute little tees, hoodies, a canvas tote AND a coffee table book with its pages filled with loveliness: photographs, drawings, lyrics and other miscellaneous surprises created by Brooke Fraser herself. What a clever girl she is! Excuse me for a while, I'm off to order some goodies xx

an amazing birthday.

greetings! I apologise for not being present in blog land for a while, but life has been incredibly busy. In the midst of all this craziness, i celebrated my 18th birthday on the weekend. I had a lovely party on saturday night with family and friends, yummy food, beautiful decorations and some awesome presents! Everyone had to dress up as a famous family, so a group of my amazing friends and I dressed up as the Addam's Family! My actual birthday was on sunday and we went to the gunshop cafe in west end for breakfast, and then went to the movies...something we haven't done as a family in a long time!

I am very excited about these next couple of posts, because I am going to show you just how fantastic my special weekend was. Here are some photos of the party:

a little bit of joy.

When I got home from uni today I was delighted to see that my order from Olive Manna had finally arrived! Inside I found some lovely goodies: red gingham fabric ribbon, a peg stamp and a bunting stamp. Today, I also bought some mini pegs from the art store, and I plan to hang up my polaroid photos with them. For now, I've put them in an awesome glass milk bottle I savoured from our family trip to the USA. Hope you've had a great day! x

watching... how i met your mother. freaking hilarious and amazing show. it makes me feel happy and puts my brain to sleep for a while when i desperately need a study break :)
eating... this weekend i've had some homemade pizza, pumpkin & feta quiche, salad, strawberries and scones. they were all VERY good.
reading... the second & third books of the 'tomorrow' series. the movie is amazing. if you haven't seen it, you need to! absolutely brilliant.
listening... to brooke fraser's newest single 'something in the water' on replay. cannot wait for the release of her new album 'flags' on october 12! also, hillsong's new album 'a beautiful exchange.'
wanting... peace of mind, some mini pegs, more polaroid film and a sunny day away at Noosa.
excited about... youth alive, my birthday party, my online purchases arriving at my door, and camp.

what is the world you imagine?

i love reading this section of the monthly brisbane 'map magazine.'
people of all different ages and occupations living in various parts of Brisbane are asked a series of questions, one of them being 'what is the world you imagine?'
they write their answer on a big whiteboard, and i really love seeing what they say: a place of acceptance, unity, love & no regrets. seems pretty perfect, doesn't it?

i love my dad.

this post is just a simple shout out to my wonderful father, because today is father's day! i hope you have helped to make your dad's day a special one. i made mine a mean cup of coffee this morning, much to his delight! love you daddy :)

ps: i picked up these cool-as postcards in a hillsong church brochure when we went there a few weeks ago. how cool are they?

spring awakening.

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. - Anne Bradstreet

Happy first day of september, and spring! I am so happy that spring is here. Winter can become a bit boring and monotonous after a while. Spring opens up new opportunities for gardening, enjoying the outdoors, tasting new seasonal fruits and wearing t-shirts and shorts. Spring is a great season! Today is also a special day, because it is one of my best friend's birthdays, the wonderful, incredible Mali from a life less ordinary. Pop on over there and wish her a happy birthday sometime today!

May your first day of spring be filled with promises of fresh starts, beautiful gardens and warmer weather :) xx
