this is something i know to be true. i apologise for my absence over the last few weeks. once the uni semester is into gear, it's really straight into gear. this has been one of the most exhausting weeks ever! thus, i have had very minimal rest, and no time for fun stuff. HOWEVER, last weekend Luke and i went down south (for me, 2 weekends in a row!)...firstly down to college to visit some friends, where we discovered the sunday morning markets at the community hall. awesome! i bought a pile of very old little golden books to add to the collection, some crocheted doilies, and a vintage pillow case that will be transformed for crafting purposes. all for under $5. bargain!
We then ventured to Sydney to visit more friends. it was really great. unfortunately i had to take some work with me, but i was pretty productive sitting and drawing in the botanical gardens. it was nice to get away from the business of Brisbane for a while!
Since my return this week, my head has been burrowed in research and drawings, my hands and arms (and legs too?!) covered with smudges of markers, pencils and pens. Being so incredibly busy, i really value the little things i see amidst the craziness. His presence in the sunlight peering through the window, buying and wrapping gifts for lovely friends, wearing new crazy striped boots at uni, and discovering awesome mason jar lights on Etsy.
I hope everyone has had a marvelous week, not too stressful like mine! And that you remembered to look for the small things that give you hope and joy.
xx
sometimes it's the simple things that recharge and refresh. Hope your week is wonderful.
