pause.

watching... Glee. great show. and a lil' bit of modern family too.

eating... olive bread, nectarines, and homemade raspberry jelly.

listening to...  Hillsong United, Ingrid Michaelson, Little Red, A& J.

reading... the bible. particularly psalms and proverbs - full of good stuff. i am also (impatiently) waiting for my current issue of frankie to come in the mail...there were a few issues with my change of address & the subsription - my aunty told them the wrong house number....at least she got the street right? so close, yet so far.

excited about... the songwriting bug biting again. yes, that is the reason for the above photo. i have written bits and pieces in my lyric book for the last year and a bit, but haven't been able to finish a song in quite a while. yesterday afternoon was the defining moment. it felt great.

all sorts of lovely...

my sewing box is now overflowing...i love it.

Luke stealthily bought 2 tickets to see Wicked (woohoo!) for Valentine's. We went on tuesday night and it was magnificent! He also bought me the program which is full of cool pictures :)

my growing collection of little goldens. i was recently given another to add to the collection by a very lovely lady.

one of my fabric packages from the etsy store 'little tea wagon' arrived in the mailbox today! it was wrapped up so nicely, and the sheets smell of lovely laundry powder, rather than my great grandmother's wardrobe.

i was in west end today and couldn't resist popping into one of my favourite stores, Nook. i bought another pair of earrings, and some little jane st ribbon and a magnet to add to the collection.

Day 29: In this past month, what have you learned?

in the past month, i have learnt:
- to forgive more
- to crotchet
- to play guitar better
- that i am in love with bok choy
- to not expect people to be perfect
- to rely on His strength in my weakness

Day 28: A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?

then.
i was fresh out of high school, a bit frightened to step out of my comfort zone, a little lost and disorientated, very uncertain and naive in a lot of ways.

now.
i'm ready for my 2nd year of uni, i've learnt many more life lessons that can only be learned when out of school, i've made new friends, i have a stronger relationship with God, i've let go of the past, i'm not scared of change, and i embrace the future and all the exciting adventures it holds.

wynnum pier sunset.

kangaroo point sunset.

i went to nan and pop's last week to stay a couple of nights. she taught me to crotchet! and we went out for lunch at a cute little place called 'the wishing well.'

found some b&w lomography film at typo! score.

Day 24: A letter to your parents.

To my amazing parents (not exaggerating),

We've had a lot of good times together, us three. You guys have been more than parents, you've literally been best friends. I have fun hanging out with you. How many other teenage girls can honestly say they love just chilling out with their parents? I definitely can.
I respect you so much and know that I can rely on you for support and advice whenever it is needed. You have never been pushy; you've always told me that I'm free to choose my own path. I love that. Not many parents can watch their kids grow without imposing their own ideas and dreams for their lives, on them. What I love most about you though, is your amazing faith and love for Jesus. You've been amazing spiritual role models, not for seeming perfect in your walk with God, but for being in love with Him and seeking him in everything you do, knowing that he can take our faults and failures and makes something beautiful out of them.
So I just want to show some gratitude. And words are never enough...but thank you for holding me tight when I've been heartbroken, for letting me go when I need to have new experiences and discover who I am, for sharing laughs and tears, for being trustworthy to confide in, for putting up with me when I blow my hair in your bathroom and leave long strands of brown hair all over your floor, for being patient with my faults, and for highlighting my strengths. You guys truly rock.

And I love you tonnes.

Day 23: Something you crave for a lot.

all summer i have craved ice cold smoothies. my favourite - banana & berry. yum!

Day 22: What makes you different from everyone else?

well, i guess that i'm the only me that can be me. no one else could be exactly the same as me..look, talk, or walk the same. no one has the exact same genetics as me, or has the exact same set of values, principles, hobbies or talents...it would be boring if we were all the same...what value could we add to humanity if each of us was the same? we were created to be our very own person. i like that.

Day 21: A picture of something that makes you happy.

this has always been one of my very favourite verses. when i saw that hillsong united had used it for this image i immediately made it my computer background. it's simple, and it makes me happy because i feel content being just who i am in Jesus, nothing more, nothing less.

Day 20: Someone you see yourself being with in the future.

Luke is awesome. He has been my best friend and we've had some awesome times together. I am blessed to have him in my life :)

Day 19: Nicknames you have & why you have them.

i have quite the collection of nicknames that have accumulated over the years, but these are the main ones:

- kelse: this is my most common one, used by my family & friends.
- kelse-may: this is one that my lovely friend Ali came up with, when she thought my middle name was 'May' (which it actually isn't...but she ended up calling me this anyway).
- chippa: there are a few variations of these (chippadee, chippadizzle, chip). this nickname was created by my "big brother" Simo the year i broke my front left tooth at my very first summer camp.
- junior burger: just something my uncle calls me, and he is affectionately known as 'senior fries.'

Day 18: Plans/Dreams/Goals that you have

'Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined' - Thoreau
- be someone to at least one somebody
- go to Nepal (woohoo!)
- graduate uni
- actually become a GOOD architect (i hear a few complaints by some builders, engineers and surveyors...)
- experience life in its fullest form
- study a year at hillsong college
- own an olive tree
- travel pretty much everywhere
- take lots and lots of film photos
- write music

Day 17: Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why.

definitely brooke fraser. i get that the life of a famous musical talent like herself would be hectic and stressful at times, but on the whole it seems like her experiences would be pretty awesome. touring with a cool band across some really cool countries, getting on board with charities, writing, singing, playing and recording music. sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me!
